Health Executive Administrative Leadership (HEAL) Fellowship
We are pleased to offer an innovative and rigorous fellowship to Emergency Medicine residency graduates with an interest in Emergency Medicine Administration and Leadership.

Health Executive Administrative Leadership Fellows will work directly with leaders in operations and administration both within the Department of Emergency Medicine, 果冻影院, and the Froedtert Health Enterprise to develop and advance the skills to be a leader in this field. Fellows will gain experience in the following areas over the two-year fellowship:
- ED Operations Management and Patient Flow
- Quality Improvement and Patient Safety
- Patient Experience

Job Opportunities for Trainees After Graduation
- Graduates of the EM Health Executive Administrative Leadership Fellowship will be well positioned in a competitive job market to directly fill Medical Director or Assistant Medical Director roles both at Academic or Community sites.
- Fellowship differentiation is becoming increasingly important in the Emergency Medicine job market.

- GMAT is waived by University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
Funding
Funding of the trainee is provided by the Department of Emergency Medicine including salary support, CME, travel and master鈥檚 degree tuition will be covered by the 果冻影院 within the fellow鈥檚 contract.
Additional Fellow Responsibilities
- Obtaining a Master’s Degree (MBA from 鈥�/ )
- Attending ACEP Directors Academy phase 1 and 2 or AAEM ED Operations Certificate Course
- Attending Froedtert Hospital ED Operations Committee meetings
- Attending Froedtert Hospital ED Quality and Safety meetings
- Participate on two hospital and/or interdepartmental committees
Fellows will have protected time for projects and professional development while working as an attending faculty in our system emergency departments with moonlighting opportunities available.
Program Details
Research Opportunities/Scholarly Activity Expectations
- The fellow will have dedicated time to complete the scholarly requirements of the fellowship
- Fellows are required to complete at least two quality improvement projects in a dedicated area of focus of the fellow’s selection
- Fellows are required to publish at least one scholarly project per year of fellowship
- Fellows are required to deliver one Grand Rounds lecture to the residency program per year
- Scholarly requirements will be tracked in the fellow’s evaluation process
Impact of Program on Trainees in 果冻影院AH Sponsored Program
- The fellow will interact with the EM residents both clinically and during the EM residents Administration elective
- The fellow will attend Emergency Medicine weekly EM conference as available
- The fellow is expected to deliver grand round presentations to the EM residents and faculty

Evaluation & Grievance Process Information

Evaluation Process
- EM Health Executive Administrative Leadership fellows will be electronically evaluated by the program director or medical director associated with committee/project work at the end of each quarter.
- The fellowship director will meet with the fellow twice in the given academic year to review received feedback regarding clinical progress, committee duties and project progress, clinical teaching, career plans and research requirement objectives.
- EM Health Executive Administration Leadership fellows are evaluated in their role as an emergency medicine instructor by residents in the Emergency Medicine Residency Program, twice annually.
- The fellow will electronically evaluate the administration faculty annually (twice) during the program.
Grievance Process
Grievance Process
- The EM Health Executive Administrative Leadership fellow may raise a concern either in-person, or in writing to the fellowship program director. If the complaint is procured verbally the receiving party will document and provide the summary of the complaint, conversation, and action of the associated complaint with the fellow.
- If the fellow does not feel comfortable raising an issue with the program director or the program director’s response to the complaint, the fellow can contact the Department Chair.
- If the complaint remains unresolved after the initial two steps are completed, the complaint or grievance can be escalated to the Senior Associate for Graduate Medical Education.
- Finally, if the complaint still remains unresolved, the grievance would be adjudicated via human resources, 果冻影院 compliance, or the 果冻影院 ombudsman’s office.
