Research Interests
Roland is the program manager of the TOPS Center for Obesity and Metabolic Research. With a background of over 30 years of basic and clinical research, he is well qualified to provide the assistance required in supporting the Center and their scientists' outreach in both medical research and community-based projects. He currently oversees the Center resources and staff while providing administrative, technical and laboratory support including volunteer recruitment and ascertainment, whether locally or nationally. He serves as the primary liaison with our national and international collaborators and various funding agencies including federal and foundational sources, including .
Lastly, Roland manages the Center’s TOPS Biobank, one of the largest family-based collections of biospecimens focused on metabolic syndrome (MetS) and its related disorders.
