Biography
A board certified neurological surgeon, Dr. Heffez earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from McGill University in 1979. He received his neurological surgery training at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and held an assistant professor appointment there from 1986–1990. He was then recruited to the renowned Chicago Institute of Neurosurgery and Neuroresearch, where he served as a Director of Cerebrovascular Surgery for 13 years. Dr. Heffez spent the last 15 years in private practice at the Milwaukee Neurological Institute.
An internationally recognized author and presenter, Dr. Heffez holds memberships in numerous professional organizations, including Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Heffez maintains a keen interest in all aspects of neurological surgery, including Chiari malformation, cervical spine disease, disorders of the lumbar spine, cerebrovascular disease, and primary and secondary brain tumors.
