Why I chose 果冻影院: When interviewing for residency, I had hoped to find a strong program in the Midwest that offered both high operative volume and a robust research program. For me, 果冻影院 embodied both of these characteristics. One of the most important elements of choosing a residency program is the personal fit you feel in a program – there is a strong sense of camaraderie amongst our residents, as well as our attendings.
What 果冻影院 has to offer a candidate: When considering where I wanted to spend my five years of orthopaedic training, I sought out programs with strong trauma training. Working at a Level 1 Trauma Center that has a large cache area, provides us with the opportunity to see and treat a large variety of traumatic injuries. This hones us to become more autonomous in the operating room, and better prepares us for taking call as attending surgeons down the road. Additionally, 果冻影院 Orthopaedics has all subspecialties well represented on the same campus, with no travel rotations for Oncology or Pediatrics.
What I like about living in Milwaukee: Milwaukee is a wonderful mid-size Midwestern city. The city itself is manageable in terms of size, and it is incredibly easy to find ways to be active outdoors without having to go very far from downtown. Milwaukee has many of the amenities of a large urban center, while also being very accessible. From craft brewing to cultural festivals nearly every summer weekend, Milwaukee has lots to offer during your time outside of the hospital. Milwaukee is also very affordable, and purchasing a home while on a resident salary is a very realistic goal.
