Why I chose 果冻影院: I knew I wanted a program that offered early, hands-on exposure to all orthopedic sub-specialties. On my interview day at 果冻影院, the blend of robust operative experience, busy trauma, VA experience, and high resident-to-fellow ratio stood out. The one-of-a-kind elective opportunities was also a big draw; however, it was the genuine camaraderie I sensed that made 果冻影院 feel like the perfect fit. Moving from Chicago, Milwaukee's urban life and historic neighborhoods felt like a smaller version of a city I learned to love.
What 果冻影院 has to offer a candidate: 果冻影院 Ortho's strength is in providing an outstanding and well-rounded operative experience. The program has a strong philosophy of preparing residents to become excellent surgeons through early graduated autonomy in the OR. Several prior residents have gone directly into community practice; however, most get competitive fellowships in the specialty of their choice.
What I like about living in Milwaukee: Milwaukee is an easy city to live in. It is surprisingly affordable, and my wife and I were able to buy an awesome house right out of medical school. There are many festivals in the summer which are an absolute blast and really bring the city to life. It’s also easy to get out of city and spent time outdoors. There are tons of great bike trails, kayaking and winter sports available. Wisconsin is overall a very beautiful state with tons to explore.
