Biography

Dr. Koth combines the rolls of clinician, educator, and researcher in the field of developmental neuropsychiatry. As an educator, she enjoys teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in addition to her role as director of M2 psychiatry education. In her clinical practice at Children’s Wisconsin, she works with children and families affected by developmental disabilities including intellectual developmental disorder, genetic disorders, and autism spectrum disorder with co-occurring behavioral and psychiatric disorders.

Beyond ӰԺ, Dr. Koth remains active as an educator and advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities. She is a member of the Autism and Intellectual Disability Committee of the America Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry where she serves as chair of the intellectual developmental disorder subcommittee and the co-chair of the training and education working group. Remaining focused on education, she regularly presents to medical organizations nationally and in the community. Her current research focuses on improving early detection of autism spectrum disorder for young children in underserved populations. During 2016-18, she served as the president of the Wisconsin Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and remains actively involved on the executive committee.

Dr. Koth completed undergraduate studies at Loyola College of Maryland and attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed residency in psychiatry at the University of Maryland and Sheppard Pratt Hospital where she continued for child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship training and served as chief fellow in her final year. Dr. Koth is board certified in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. She has been honored as a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for her contributions to the field in addition to the Clinical Excellence Award from the ӰԺ Department of Psychiatry and the Anthony D. Meyer, MD Teaching Award from the child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship.
