Biography

 

Dr. Janet S. Rader became the Jack A. & Elaine D. Klieger Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the ӰԺ in September 2009. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Missouri. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center. She did a Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and gynecologic oncology.

Named in U.S. News & World Report’s Top Doctors List, Dr. Rader is ranked in the top 1% of Gynecologic Oncologists nationwide. Dr. Rader’s practice involves chemotherapy and surgery (including laparoscopic/robotic procedures). She specializes in cervical, ovarian, and uterine cancers, gestational trophoblastic disease, pelvic masses, cancer screening and prevention.

In addition to leading the department, Dr. Rader provides leadership in development of a Women’s Health Research Program and while continuing her own research program in gynecologic cancers.

She has received National Institutes of Health (NIH) and American Cancer Society (ACS) funding for her research. Her research focuses on developing new therapies for gynecologic cancer through clinical trials and analysis of molecular changes in gynecologic malignancies.

Dr. Rader over 190 peer reviewed publications and 26 book chapters/editorials/reviews.
