Biography
Dr. Beje Thomas is a transplant nephrologist and Medical Director of the adult Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Programs. He is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology. He completed his general nephrology fellowship at the University of Connecticut Health Center and an additional year of training in transplant nephrology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He has been on faculty at three large transplant programs, including MUSC, the University of Maryland Medical Center, and most recently at the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute (MGTI) in Washington, D.C. He has been actively involved in research and medical education throughout his career, including leadership roles, most recently as the Transplant Nephrology Fellowship Director at MGTI. He has substantial experience in all clinical aspects of organ transplant. He has a particular interest in working toward overcoming barriers to increase awareness and access to transplant.
