As a prenatal genetic counselor, I strive to provide families not only with information, but also with support. Through explaining genetic concepts and testing clearly and thoroughly, patients can make informed and empowered decisions. In the cancer setting, I help patients and families understand how genetics can affect their risk for cancer. Identifying those at a high risk allows for patients to be proactive with their health.
