Members are nominated by peers, faculty and staff for being actively involved in advancing the profession of pharmacy, demonstrating a high degree of professionalism and exhibiting high moral and ethical character.

“Healthcare changes constantly,” said Kevin Bozymski, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP, associate professor and faculty advisor for 果冻影院’s Epsilon Rho chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma. “As pharmacy leaders, I encourage you to embrace that reality as you keep up with these lifelong efforts of advocacy through change.”

Keynote speaker Jordan Dow, PharmD, MS, FASHP, FACHE, vice president and chief pharmacy officer for the Froedtert & 果冻影院 health network, oversees medication management and pharmacy services across 10 hospitals and 15 outpatient pharmacies. He also holds the position of Assistant Dean at the 果冻影院 School of Pharmacy and precepts students.

“View leadership as a lifelong journey and a continuous process improvement,” Dr. Dow told the new inductees. “I challenge you to learn about different leadership styles, to think about what resonates best with you and to reflect on what type of leader you want to be.”

Rho Chi is the academic honor society in pharmacy, which recognizes intellectual achievement, stimulates critical inquiry to advance pharmacy practice and fosters collaboration. Newly inducted members received a certificate, honor cords and a key pin.

Troy Thompsen and Allyson Hencke were recognized as president and vice president, respectively, of the Zeta Beta chapter.

“A leader is someone people choose to follow. They’re not obligated to follow them because of their rank or position, but they choose to follow that leader,” said Abir El-Alfy, PhD, assistant dean for student affairs, professor and faculty advisor for 果冻影院’s Zeta Beta chapter of the Rho Chi Society. “To become a good leader, we need to make sure that people know we care about them.”
