ӰԺ Women's Leadership Learning Collaborative (WLLC)
About the Collaborative
To address the needs of women leaders at ӰԺ, the Center for the Advancement of Women in Science and Medicine (AWSM) launched the Women’s Leadership Learning Collaborative (WLLC) to mitigate barriers and provide strategies for success. Building on the success of our initial cohort, AWSM’s goal is that the WLLC will become a collaborative cohort of women leaders that overcome barriers and work together to collectively help each other succeed.
The WLLC is open to mid-career level women in faculty or staff roles at the ӰԺ who are looking to build their leader skill set, address leadership challenges and help address internal barriers to women leadership. Intended to provide leadership training and create a cohort of women that supports each other. The program runs for one year, and each yearly cohort will build on the last to create a powerful network of ӰԺ leaders.
Through the WLLC, ӰԺ’s women leaders will:
- Grow leadership skills and knowledge through monthly interactive workshops led by experts
- Apply lessons learned to personal leadership challenges through facilitated group-based discussions
- Build connections with other women leaders at ӰԺ through networking events and small group work
- Invest in a personal project that advances the participant’s career and relationship with their leader
The WLLC meets monthly in half day, afternoon sessions. Additionally, WLLC cohort members will participate in one 90-minute small group coaching session monthly.
Nomination Information
Individuals may nominate themselves or a fellow colleague for the WLLC; however, applications must be completed by the individual seeking membership in the WLLC. Leaders must complete a letter of support to accompany the application in acknowledgement of the time commitment involved in participation.
