Fellowship Overview

The Breast Imaging Fellowship match is sponsored by the and is managed by the . The interview year begins according to the . The NRMP has announced the schedule for the Radiology Fellowship Match for 2026 Appointments.

Fellowship Rotations

  • The entire year a fellow is assigned to the Breast Imaging service with an opportunity to rotate on other radiology services if desired. Frequency of off service rotation will be determined on progress in Breast Imaging.
  • Fellows are required to participate in Breast Imaging call. This consists of one half-day of work per month on a Saturday. There is no general radiology call requirement.
  • The Froedtert Clinical Cancer Center is the primary rotation site for the Breast Imaging Fellows.
  • Fellows will rotate at clinics and community hospitals within the Froedtert Health System approximately 5-10% of the time to experience community-style practice.
    • Some of the sites of rotation include:
      • Rayus Westbrook in Waukesha, WI
      • Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital
  • Fellows granted a weekly academic day to prepare for tumor board and to participate in scholarly and educational activities.
  • Fellows are offered an opportunity for independent practice after completing at least 6 months of work and pending evaluation of readiness by faculty.

Lecture Schedule

  • Monthly faculty created fellow-level breast radiology didactic lectures.
  • Monthly breast imaging interesting case conference.
  • Additional (10-15) Breast Imaging didactic lectures for residents and fellows.
  • Each fellow is required to present one lecture during the Breast Imaging lecture block given to the residents in the spring of their fellowship.

Tumor Board/Multidisciplinary Conference

  • Every Monday at noon.
  • Radiology portion prepared and presented by a fellow.
  • 6-10 cases chosen by the Thursday of the preceding week by surgery or oncology services.

Application Information

A confirmatory email will be sent when your complete application packet has been received. Interview invitations are typically sent out to candidates in December and January with interviews being held from late February through mid-March. All interviews will be held virtually.
