Advance: From Postdoc to Faculty

This is a 2-month program designed to inform trainees just what it takes to be successful on the academic job market. The inaugural seminar, “The Postdoc Roadmap to an Array of Academic Positions”, is designed for postdocs and graduate students alike to learn about what type of academic positions exist and what to do from day 1 to be competitive for those positions. Through a mix of 7 additional seminars and 3 workshops, participants will learn how to make themselves competitive on the academic job market, how to find and apply for jobs, and how to thrive in academia once they have gained independence. Come learn from a diverse set of experts, including hiring chairs, recent faculty hires, and faculty of primarily undergraduate institutions, to get the tools you need to succeed. See full program list below and attached syllabus for more details.
