Dr. Tom Aufderheide Receives Distinguished Achievement Award

Tom Aufderheide, MDTom Aufderheide, MD, professor of emergency medicine and director of the NIH-funded Resuscitation Research Center in the Department of Emergency Medicine, received the Council on Cardiopulmonary, Critical Care, Perioperative, and Resuscitation (3CPR) Distinguished Achievement Award at American Heart Association Scientific Sessions in Philadelphia. The Distinguished Achievement Award is the highest award granted by the Council and recognizes individuals who have made major professional contributions over a continuing period, and who have made substantial professional contributions to the field represented by the council, including contributions to new knowledge, teaching and/or clinical care, and professional leadership in national or international organizations.

The 3CPR Distinguished Achievement Award is presented every three years. Past recipients have included Directors of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
