Research is important to the Division of Minimally Invasive and Gastrointestinal Surgery and to the Minimally Invasive General Surgery Program for many reasons. Our research compliments and enhances our clinical focus. This allows us to:

  • Learn from our experiences and continue to improve upon our results
  • Develop innovative approaches to complex patients and problems
  • Train the next generation of surgeons (MIS Fellows and interested residents) how to think critically and successfully complete research projects
